My Book Editing Services

Developmental Editing

£0.018 per word

(e.g., 60,000 words x £0.018 = £1,080)

If you've just finished writing your manuscript but want to make sure the plot & subplots work, the characters are believable & consistent, and the overall structure is sound, my developmental editing service is for you.

What You'll Get

If you opt for my developmental editing service, I'll thoroughly read through your manuscript from start to finish and make comments in the margin along the way, flagging up any issues regarding the believability, chapter length & structure, character development, dialogue, overall structure, plot & subplots, and voice. Once I have finished reading, I will write a detailed editorial report to enlighten you of what's working well and how your story could be improved for a better chance of representation or indie success.

Price

For my developmental editing service, I charge £0.018 per word, but I understand that paying a large sum of money in one go can be daunting, so I offer my clients payment plans to suit them.

I require a 50% deposit up front, but the remaining balance can be paid in instalments on agreed dates.

After Care

Once you've taken the time to digest my report, I'm happy to discuss any questions or solutions via email to help you get the most out of my service.

Line Editing

£0.015 per word

(e.g., 60,000 words x £0.015 = £900)

Line editing is the most detailed type of editing, so if you feel that your text needs a substantial amount of work, my line editing service would be a great fit for you.

What You'll Get

Using the Tracked Changes tool in Microsoft Word, I'll go through your manuscript line by line and fix the following issues: active vs passive voice, awkward sentences, capitalisation, clarity, clunky copy, consistency, descriptions (show vs tell), factual accuracy, flow, grammar, lengthy sentences, mood & tone, new lines & paragraphs, punctuation, repetition, sense, spelling, syntax, tense, and typos.
