As a book editor & writer, I'm really scared of AI... 😦

Professional UK book editor reveals fear of how AI will negatively impact the creative industry.
When I started working as a book editor, Grammarly and ProWritingAid made me nervous. 😥
Many writers in Facebook groups spoke about choosing them over editors, believing they could fix every issue in their books. 😬
I remember posting about how both can be great for small mistakes but shouldn't replace humans for larger issues.
Thankfully, lots of writers knew this and liked the idea of working with a book editor as well if they could. 😊
Buuuuuuut... now with things like ChatGPT (etc.) that can now 'do whatever you tell it to', I'm thinking: will AI replace me and other book editors? 😥
I know lots of writers won't touch AI, but equally, many will because it's quick and free.
But I'm not just worried about AI from a competitive perspective either, I also feel sad that AI threatens human creativity.
I don't want to see a world where books, stories, poems, and artwork are generated by AI.
Art should be created from the mind and soul! 🧡
And it makes me even sadder that it's getting harder to tell the difference the more advanced AI becomes.
Everything has been flooded with AI, so I fear it will dominate the literary market at some point too! 😔
